The role of PMU
Project Management Unit

A dedicated Project Monitoring Unit headed by Project Director, Monitoring Officers and support staff for effective and efficient implementation of the Project activities. The PMU is housed in Peshawar. The Monitoring Officers for the three Forest Regions not only monitor the Project activities but also coordinate the allied activities at field level.

The PMU is responsible for

  • Planning, coordination, budgeting, reporting and monitoring
  • Arranging external monitoring and evaluation
  • Devising strategy for program implementation
  • Approving and distribution of funds
  • Provide and manage experts support, through outsourcing and hiring consultants
  • Procurement of inputs, equipment and services for the project implementation.
  • Provide secretariat to the Project Steering Committee (PSC).
  • Any other task assigned by the Steering Committee

The PMU has the following key positions:-

  • Project Director.
  • Senior Planning and M&E officer Head Quarter
  • Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
  • GIS Specialist
  • Accountant
  • Other support and Ministerial staff
