Role of Forest Regions

The BTAP is planned by Project Management Unit and exclusively implemented by existing staff of three Forest Regions. The activities are implemented by 28 Forest Divisions and 5 Integrated Specialized Units as well as Wildlife Department. The Implementing agency has access to display their activities on the project website.

Under the overall control of respective Conservator of Forests and Chief Conservators of Forests, the existing staff is implementing project activities. The funds are released directly to the cost centers/ implementing officers and incurred under overall control of respective CCFs. The specific role of the respective heads of forest regions as notified  by the Administrative Department is as under:-

  1. The  CCFs  will be responsible to report progress  and keep the Project Director apprised of the situation.
  2. The proper and judicious utilization of the funds in accordance with rules and exercise financial control over implementing officers.
  3. Responsible to ensure that the activities are executed exactly in accordance with the PC-I and instructions on this count.
  4. The CCFs will ensure that project strategy will be followed in letter & spirit.
  5. The accounts will be compiled by implementing officers and be submitted to CCF-I for compilation and exercising financial control.
  6. The CCFs will conduct periodic reviews and submit progress on daily and fortnightly basis.
